Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

These sessions focus on 'You'. Ursula uses primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques along with Stress Management and Personal Development Coaching. The sessions are structured and goal orientated and encourages self-awareness, enthusiasm and motivation for change. They help to build resilience, develop ideas and support you taking action. The first step is an initial discussion to explore the issues and understand the outcomes you want to achieve.

If you continue Ursula will agree a contract that sets out how you will work together to achieve the outcomes over a required number of weeks. Ursula will use questions, activities and other resources to challenge ways of thinking and behaving. Our thoughts create our experiences, there is truth in the saying, "Be careful of what you ask for, you just might get it." Ursula will help you to explore your own experiences of this, both the positive as well as the negative.

The experience of this style of counselling is challenging but is also empathetic and supportive. The sessions are collaborative and Ursula will work at your pace. You will get out of it what you put in. You will be supported through this empowering process. Sign-posting is a crucial part of the creative path and therefore you will be pointed in whatever direction is deemed appropriate for your needs.
