Forthcoming Courses 2017

The Creative Path office is closed from Friday 16th December and will re open on Monday 9th January 2017.

Our next monthly workshop will be on Saturday 28th January 2017 (1.30pm – 4pm) and our guest speaker will be Moira McGee, ex Bank Manager and founder member of Women in Enterprise and believe me you won’t want to miss her chosen subject  ‘Managing your Time and Pricing your Service/Product’.’

We are taking bookings for The Creative Path 12 week course as well as The Next Step 8 week course up until Friday 16th December and again from Monday 9th January. There is an early bird discount of £20 off each course when paid in advance of start dates.  Christmas vouchers are available for all courses including yoga and monthly workshops.

May I take this opportunity to wish you and your nearest and dearest a very nurturing and peaceful Christmas.  May the New Year bring you many blessings.

With seasonal good wishes, Looking forward to seeing you in the new year,

Ursula

Major issues facing Derry’s older people

I read this concerning article in this weeks Derry Journal. Below is a few short paragraphs of the article.

A major new health survey involving almost 700 older people in Derry’s Triax area has found that almost 60% suffer from low mood and anxiety related conditions. The figure is more than twice the average for the north, when compared with the Health Survey NI for 2012-13 for those aged 55 and over.

The new Derry survey of people aged from 59 through to 90s also found that 51% are suffering from arthritis, with almost as many diagnosed as having high blood pressure, and over a quarter having heart problems.

Around one in three of the 668 people surveyed in the Creggan, Bogside, Brandywell and Fountain areas have respiratory problems such as asthma or COPD, while 17% have diabetes.
